The Story Of Lake Toba

This is the origin fairy tale story the people of Indonesia.

 

Once upon time, in a village in Sumatera, Indonesia lived a farmer who lived alone in a very simple home. One day in a bright morning he was fishing in the river. Sometime later the farmer was glad when his fishing rod get a big enough fish. He was amazed to see the color of a beautiful fish scales, the golden yellow color, the round and amazing eyes. And the more fascinated him was the fish that can talk.

"wait, don't eat me! I will stay with you, if you not eat me!"

The farmer are surprised to hear the voice of the fish, because of that the fish fell down to the ground and suddenly the fish was changed into beautiful women. "Am I dreaming?" muttered the farmer.

"Do not afraid, Sir. I am also a human being like you. I am deeply indebted to you for saved me from the curse of the Gods, my name is Puteri and I am willing to be your wife", She said. So, the were a husband and wife but there is one promised that has been agreed . They should not be told about the fish princes story. If the promise is broken there will be a tremendous disaster. They were very happy and peaceful.

A year later they was endowed a son named Samosir. He grow into a healthy and strong child's. He became a good boy but little bit naughty. He eat a lot and always hungry. He always emptied the Foods that should be eaten for three. Gradually, Samosir always make his father angry and upset. He always refused to help his parents work. The farmer's wife always remind her husband to be patient over their child's behavior.

Therefore, patience has limits and this is experienced by the farmer. One day Samosir was asked to delivered the food and beverages to the field where his father was working. But the son doesn't fulfill his duty. The farmer waiting his son and he really hungry and thirsty. but when he arrived home he saw his son was playing ball. The farmer became angry, shouting and unconsciously uttered that should not be spoken in accordance with his promise to his wife.

After the farmer say that taboo words, suddenly his wife and his son disappeared without a trace. Meanwhile, from the farmer feet came out the water, strong and fast. The farmer village and the village surrounds, water flooding very high and wide to form a lake. Then, the lake eventually known as The Toba Lake and a small island in the middle of the lake known as Samosir island.

Halloween

Hallowen is an annual celebration usually done every year on October 31. This tradition come from Ireland and taken by the Irish who emigrated to North America. Hallowen is celebrated with the children wearing scary costumes and going from door to door neighbor's house asking for candy or chocolate, saying "trick or treat!" which means "give us the candy or we will mischievous to you.

Hallowen is identical with the devil, witches, ghost and other scary creatures from western culture. The hallowen symbol is a pumpkin who carved to resemble the head of a creepy creature. And its usually have a burning candle or a lamp inside the pumpkin to make it look more creepy in the dark place.

The term of hallowen itself comes from the neighborhood of Catholic churches in Europe. This word comes from the shortening of the phrase "All Hallows Eve" (Eve of holly people). It is a day to honor the Catholic saints/holy. But in 5th Century BC in Celtic Ireland, summer usually end on October 31.

According to the legend, on that date wandering spirits of those who died in previous years, going back to find the bodies are still alive to live until next year, this is believed to be the only way for the spirit to live. Of course, people who still alive doesn't want his body possessed by the spirit of the dead person. So, the night of October 31, rural people will put out the fire or the light in their homes to makes their body cool, so the evil spirit of the dead people not interested with their body.And they also dress up in a scary costume, make a noise parade to frighten the dead person spirit.

Another unique tradition on hallowen a puppet heads made from carved on pumpkin, called "Jack o lantern". According to Irish legend, there was a man name Jack who was known as drinker and a fraud. One day he was deceived a Satan the devil to climb a tree. Jack then carved an image of cross on the tree branch, so the devil was trapped in the tree. He then made a pact with the devil, that if the devil promise not to bother him again then he will lose the devil from the tree.

After Jack died, his spirit was refused to enter heaven because of bad deeds during his life but he also was refused in hell because he deceived Satan once.

The Stories About Human

Has it ever occurred to you from which human come from? Whether they are descended from Adam and Hawa who exiled to earth because they not obey the God rules or they came from the evolution of chimpanzees and gorillas as the theory of Darwin?

And now let us discuss it trough the theory of Darwin

Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, English on December 12, 1809. He is famous because of his evolution theory.

The theory of evolution is a theory which states that living things in the past, adapting and changing their shape of body in a very long time. The theory of evolution says that human are descended from hominids (the creatures that have characteristic between human and apes). This hominids found in Africa. They had a brain (capacity of 450 cc), could walk upright, was able to see objects in the distance and was able to move the weight to the hand.

According to the religious theory

Millions of years ago, God created the pair of human (Adam and Hawa). They live in a beautiful paradise where there are no other creature beside them and the devil. They can take whatever they like in there, they can drink whatever they like to drink, they can eat whatever they like to eat in there but God prohibit them to eat one of fruit "Kuldi" in that paradise. Until finally they violate God commands and follow the devil who persuade them to eat the "Kuldi". And make god angry, then drive them out of heaven and down to earth to atone for their sins. So, from Adam and Hawa, human grow and develop into what it is today.

That some versions of the human creation in this earth. Fact or just story, only God who knows the answer ...
